The Scotforth Rural Neighbourhood Plan

Draft Scotforth Rural Neighbourhood Plan - Regulation 16 Consultation

Following completion of the Regulation 14 Formal Consultation, the draft SRNP was submitted on 4th August 2025 to Lancaster City Council under Regulation 15 of The Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012.

Regulation 15 is a crucial step in the neighbourhood planning process, as it ensures that the submitted plan is complete and has met the necessary prerequisites before it moves on to the next stages, such as independent examination and a local referendum. It allows the local planning authority to verify that the community-led plan is legally compliant and well-supported by evidence and public consultation.

Lancaster City Council's Regulation 16 Consultation

The City Council has now completed its own statutory 7-week consultation on the plan, as per Regulation 16 of the Regulations. The consultation closed on Monday, 17th November 2025.
